Sir I would like to ask could you please comment upon the falsification of the shroud of Turin? The scientists tell us that this shroud issue was all a hoax and the latest researches held by NASA have proved to a point of say if not 100% but to a point very close to 100% that this was only a fake thing which was created in the 14th century and then was handed down by people who used to benefit out of this you know people would come and pilgrims would come and visit and also financially the proprietor would gain something out of that so this was the reason how it all started.
So if it is proved to be a hoax it does not in the least affect the Ahmadiyya belief that Hazrat Isa A.S. died on cross did not die on cross because our belief was not based on the discovery of shroud at all that belief was solidly grounded on the verdict of the Holy Quran and on the verdict of the Bible and the verdict of history and the verdict of human common sense so whether the shroud is genuine or fake it does not in the least affect the Ahmadiyya position that Jesus Christ peace be upon him lived a long happy life after the crucifixion and did not die upon cross as other people would have us believe is that what you had in mind?
Yes. Thank you. They have asked that in the name of Turin Shroud the incident of a cloth found in which there were bloodstains and a picture of Jesus Christ was found what is the latest on that? They say that we have heard that scientists have proved it wrong. I told them that it is correct that scientists have proved it wrong but it does not make a difference on the Ahmadiyya community because the Promised Messiah peace be upon him did not say on the basis of the discovery of a shroud that Jesus Christ has died on cross but rather his belief was solidly grounded on the Holy Quran and the Bible and on the verdict of history and on the verdict of the common sense.
That is why those things have not changed. That is why the belief of Jesus Christ peace be upon him to have survived the crucifixion is also our belief and it has nothing to do with the shroud. Yes, if the shroud had been proven to be genuine then there would have been more strength. This is correct. There would have been one more witness but that does not mean that our case is not proven without that witness.
