Why do the three pillars in Mecca symbolize three satans ?

How are the three pillars in Mecca symbolized as the three devils on which we have to fall seven stones each? Well, I don’t know how, but they are told to symbolize satans, big satan, small satan and medium sized satan. And that is just symbolic. I think, perhaps, maybe, they are associated with some deadly sin of the past ages.

And some sin might have been committed there, you know, in a building of which they make a part or that spot where they are situated. And to remind us of our duty against sin and to protest against sin, this is just a symbolic language that we throw stones on them.
