My question is very simple. What is the meaning of life? That’s very clever of you to call this a simple question. The meaning of life. Well, in what sense would you like to ask, I mean to expect this answer? From religious point of view, from worldly point of view, from philosophical, from scientific, from whichever angle you want to look at it, you define that and I’ll attempt to answer. From the religious point of view. Okay. The simple meaning of life from religious point of view is a motion of consciousness from a low state to a higher state, that is towards Allah.
Life starts with a very vague consciousness. Lower you delve into the animal kingdom, lesser consciousness you’ll find. Rise towards man and the consciousness and sensitivity becomes more defined and clarified until you reach the point where you begin to speak and understand and the complicated mind of man appears. So it’s a journey from lack of consciousness to consciousness.
This is the meaning of life. And when it reaches that point where man is born and you have attained a platform from which next string is God, then religion begins. But the direction never changes. It is to more sensitivities, more refinement. There is always a direct path towards Allah, towards better understanding Allah and to refine yourself so that you come closer to him. So this is the meaning of life in essence as I see it.
