Hazrat Isa A.S., as we know and say, Hazrat Isa A.S. stayed and preached in Kashmir Valley for a long time. Then why don’t we find many Christians there as compared to Western countries? What sort of Christians would you expect to have there, to find there? Believing in Trinity? In a way, sir, yes. In a way? In which way do you think Hazrat Isa A.S. preached Trinity? No prophet taught Trinity in real life.
So, wherever Jesus, Hazrat Isa A.S. died, you will find no trace of Trinity. That is accepted? Yes, sir. A message of love would be found. A story of virgin birth would be found. And generally, not to take revenge, but to be kind to your enemies, this teaching would be found there. If such a teaching is found under a different title, still the teaching remains that of Hazrat Isa A.S.
So, under Buddhism, we find the same teachings of true Christianity, which were really the Christianity of Hazrat Isa A.S. And we also find reference to Hazrat Isa A.S. in the Pali literature, declaring him to be a Buddha. Also, we have a prophecy made by Hazrat Buddha, the first Buddha, that after about 500 or so years, another Buddha would come. So, that Buddha was Hazrat Isa A.S. Because he was given the title Buddha, so his teaching was referred to under Buddhism, not as a Isaiyat. You see, Christianity is Masihiyat, a literal translation of that.
And, if he was also a Buddha, like Messiah, Buddha is a title. It is not his name. Jesus was his name. The name of his religion is not Jesusism. It is Christianity because Christ is the literal translation in Latin of the Hebrew word Messiah. You understand this point? So, Messiahism or Christianity indicate his religion. When he is known under a different title, the title of Buddha, his religion should be described as Buddhism. This is exactly what has happened.
All his followers who followed his teachings were amalgamated with Buddhists and totally absorbed with them. And, because people were awaiting the coming of a second Buddha, when he appeared there with the same teachings as was prophesied by earlier Buddha, he was accepted as such. And, as I have told you, this is not a fiction. A real reference in his name is found in Pali literature, describing him to be a Buddha.
