I’m only asking the question because the gentleman asked the question about Halley’s Comet. Yes, I see. So it reminded you of something? Yes. This is going further back. There are so many writers like Erich von Däniken. Yes. They write about past civilizations and they bring it further and say that Stonehenge couldn’t have been made by human labor. I know. I have read about that. Yes, Stonehenge. I would like to know your personal opinion on this. About these? I mean, they say either it’s aliens. About Halley’s Comet or about Stonehenge?
They say that there was either great civilizations in the past, as Mr. Von said today, or it was aliens. Well, there is no question of aliens coming and leaving some Stonehenge behind. This is absurd. Much better assumption about aliens coming and building something in the world is about their building the pyramids of Egypt. And even some Russian scholars have proposed that there is so much wisdom gone into the building of pyramid and so much technology and so much accuracy that it is impossible to conceive that such a thing could have happened so many thousand years ago, when mankind as such was much poorer off in their knowledge of building and science and mathematics and so many things, which must go towards the building of pyramids.
You know, the accuracy is absolutely fantastic. In a huge building, covering about 13 acres or more, I think, many, many acres of land, solid building, the stones are directed north-south, and there’s innumerable number of stones with which that pyramid is built ultimately. It’s a huge building. Yet each stone keeps the alignment so perfectly that each stone is aligned correctly and very little difference, if there is at all, is left. And now some scientific workers, some engineers, have compared this result with the most modern buildings with the help of the most sophisticated, you know, these compasses, etc.
And they say that the margin of error in these modern buildings is so great that as compared to that, it seems to be the work of a crude people, you know, as far as the alignment is concerned. And how the stones were carried out, huge stones of many tons, to such heights and each stone placed with such accuracy as if by the work of some crane, with most knowledgeable engineers and most sophisticated ways of finding the direction and things.
All these questions pertaining to the building of pyramids make them much more important than the stone hinges or any other such thing. So some writers believe that these were the works of aliens who had an advanced society, who came, visited this world and built these pyramids to give a message to the mankind or for future bearings for themselves. So some people have even worked on the ultimate pointing of the pyramids. They say the pyramids which are built at some distances, they are pointing to the same point in the heaven. With the result, they believe that they point to the place from which the aliens came. A lot of imagination has gone into these things.
But as far as the proof is concerned, there is none. It appears to be absurd that these people did appear in the past and the Holy Quran and other religious books did not give the slightest reference to them. The books which know about the future, how could they afford not to know about the past? So I am responsible to give you an answer from a religious point of view. I am quite certain that this is all a fantasy of human beings, run wild, nothing more.
Apart from that, I point out to one verse of the Holy Quran which gives us the solution. That verse of the Holy Quran deals with the question of buildings. And the Holy Quran addresses the people of the time of the Holy Prophet, and also I believe because that time extends to the doomsday, so all the people which would follow would also be addressed. And that tells them that we had created people before them, mightier than you, who knew the art of buildings, which you can never think of, they excelled in the art of buildings.
Here is a proof, in the form of pyramids, that they did excel in the art of buildings and compared to their time and their knowledge, that feat is meteoric. Today’s man can build a skyscraper, but with the knowledge available to this man, the building of skyscraper is just commonplace now. But in that age where the sum total of human knowledge was so little, to build pyramids was a very special thing. And this is to what the Holy Quran points out, that we had created people earlier than you, who excelled in the art of buildings, which you will never reach. The pyramid cannot be repeated in its entirety, even by the man of today.
Because so much scientific knowledge has gone into it, and so much hidden messages are still there, which people are attempting to solve, but they still fail to do so. I mean, there is not a great time to go on describing all the intricacies of the building of pyramids, but there are books written by scholarly people, which everybody can read and find out for himself. Right?
