Questioner: I would like to know more about why Allah rejected Satan.
Huzoor: Why did he reject Satan?
Questioner: Yes.
You see, anybody is either accepted or rejected according to his behaviour and conduct. So if the behaviour of Satan was worthy of rejection, then he had to be rejected. What is your opinion about the behaviour of Satan?
You see, if you understand that parable, that, well, not parable, but an anecdote or whatever you may call it, what happened was that God appointed a vicegerent on earth, his deputy, and asked everybody to bow to him, that is to say, to accept his authority. Now, Satan rebelled. He said, I will not bow to the authority of this person whom you have appointed. Why not? asked God, and the answer was, I am better than he is.
So is this attitude worthy of rejection or worthy of acceptance? What is your opinion about it?
Questioner: I think it was correct that he was rejected. It was correct? Yes.
Huzoor: Yes, that’s right. But today, in any government, when the rightful authority appoints some officer, however lowly placed he is, if somebody out of his pride refuses to accept his authority, he would be punished, won’t he?
Questioner: Yes.
Huzoor: So this is exactly the case of Satan.
