Huzoor, in the Surah Al-Mulk, the verse 15, huwal lazee ja’ala lakumul arza zaloolan fa’mishu fee manakibiha wa quloomin rizqaihi wa ilaihin mushoor The translation according to Hazrat Choye Zafrullah Khan’s translation is, he it is who has made the earth submissive to you, so traverse along its sides, and eat of his provisions, towards him is the return. The part in this verse, so traverse along its sides, is like the explanation.
What sort of explanation would you require? I can’t follow this. It’s quite simple. Huzoor, manakib is the area which is accessible to human beings for usage and walking, like there are so many mountains which are not accessible, but the sides of the mountains are, the sides of the seas, oceans are, so the remaining part of the earth which is plain and accessible, or nearly plain and accessible, that is what is referred to as manakib. The significance of emphasizing here that traverse along its shoulders… That shows that this has a design.
What is conveyed in this verse is the fact that it has not automatically happened. It has a design, and for you we have prepared a certain part of the earth. So whatever was prepared in view of human beings occupying this earth, or the life occupying this earth, that has been made useable for you, so go and enjoy it according to the will of Allah.
