If Muhammad was given permission to physically defend himself from religious persecution, then why do the Ahmadi Muslims not also physically defend themselves from similar persecution ?

Yes, please. He did not think about taking revenge. So, like when Prophet Muhammad started his religion, he faced a lot of difficulties and suffered a lot. But in the end, he also announced Jihad. Asqud by himself or he was permitted definitely by God? He did it by God’s command. Exactly. If you go back to the study of Bible, history of the Jews, although Moses was positively permitted to defend himself with sword, against sword, yet Jesus Christ followed the same teaching, yet he did not use that prerogative.

That right handed over, given to him by Allah. Is that not right? Jesus Christ was, according to the Holy Quran, was a follower of Torah. And he was also given Injil. But he was basically, fundamentally related to the Judaism. A new manifestation of Judaism appeared in the time of Jesus Christ. And the difference between Messiahhood and Moses was, that Moses used those rights, which were given to him by Allah, and the Messiah abstained from using those rights out of his free will. Do you understand this difference?

And when you read a prophecy in Rasulullah’s words, that a Messiah would come, that also shows that the Messiah would be similar to the Messiah earlier. Otherwise, he would be a false man claiming to be a Messiah. So if he is not similar to him, and his people don’t behave like the Messiah’s followers did, then there will be no similarity left. So this is one of the reasons why we don’t use our right. We claim the right is there. But number one, specifically, Allah has not told us to start defending ourselves with sword as sword is being raised against us.

But the Holy Quran has given us this inherent right, that is a lasting right. We don’t use it. Because we know Messiah had also that right. But he didn’t use it. I asked this question because I am from a non-Ahmadi community. So I also felt that when Ahmadis are in so much pain, and even those who have been brutally killed and martyred, they didn’t raise their hands. So some people think that those who are from a non-Ahmadi community, or there is a human mind, which can be called mental backwardness.

They say that the Ahmadiyya community teaches cowardice. No, no. If somebody is scarred, he renounces his faith under pressure. If somebody is ready to die, that is bravery, not cowardice.
