Why don’t Ahmadis follow the practice of placing the deceased body in front of the congregation during the funeral prayer like other Muslims?

Huzoor (rh): This is not a good thing to do, because after reading all the traditions of the Holy Prophet, we don’t come upon a single incident, a single instance, where Hazrat Rasulle Kareem صلى الله عليه وسلم or his caliphs or his companions ever did this, what you are telling me. I mean, people might not have heard him. He says that, is it permissible?

Questioner: Then why do Sunnis do this?

Huzoor (rh): Ask them. I’m just telling you why we do not do it. We do not do it because we don’t know of any tradition which tells us that when somebody died, his Janaza prayer was said while the corpse was brought into the mosque and kept there before those who said the prayer. Not a single incident has been quoted in traditions. So we have no authority for this. We don’t do it.
