Why doesn’t God kill Satan?

Questioner: If Allah knows that Satan is bad, why doesn’t he expel him of life?

Huzoor (rh): I have already answered this question, haven’t I, before? This question was asked by somebody else. Why did God create Satan if he knew he was to be bad?

Questioner: No, he’s bad now. He knows that he’s bad. Why doesn’t he expel him of life now?

Huzoor (rh): Expel him?

Questioner: Yeah, like kill him.

Huzoor (rh): You see, because God wants to try human beings and distinguish between good and bad, so God has permitted him to go on trying to incite people to do evil.

Those who belong to God would desist from following him or even if by mistake they continue to follow him now and then, they always return to God with istighfar, by seeking forgiveness of him. Ultimately, those who truly belong to him become purified in the end of the struggle. So he’s serving a purpose. He’s not without a purpose. He’s serving the purpose of our trial in life.
