Questioner: In Western countries, it is wrongly understood that Islamic Jihad is to start war, but in fact it is to encourage peace and end war. How can we remove this false understanding in the Western society?
Huzoor (rh): By first trying to understand the concept of Jihad yourself, and then propagating that concept. That is the only way to achieve that objective which you have mentioned.
Questioner: This is not enough. Could you kindly elaborate a little further? I have to give answers to some of my friends, you see.
Huzoor (rh): This is my answer to you. First of all, understand the Islamic concept of Jihad yourself. This has been discussed at length by Hadhrat Masih Maud (AS) in many of his books, and also you will come across this in many articles written by Ahmadi scholars. It is a lengthy subject, so you better understand what Jihad means. According to the Holy Quran, according to the traditions ofHuzoor-e-Akram Ψ΅ΩΩ Ψ§ΩΩΩ ΨΉΩΩΩ ΩΨ³ΩΩ , and according to his own practice, and the practice of Khulafa-e-Rashideen and so on. So having understood what Jihad means, then you will be able to convey this to your friends. Without that, how can you do it? So to win this battle, you have first of all to be prepared yourself.
