Questioner: So, it is said in the Holy Qur’an that
قَالَ فِیۡہَا تَحۡیَوۡنَ وَفِیۡہَا تَمُوۡتُوۡنَ وَمِنۡہَا تُخۡرَجُوۡنَ
He said, ‘Therein shall you live, and therein shall you die, and therefrom shall you be brought forth.’(7:25)
Huzoor (rh): So, how can man travel beyond earth?
Questioner: Yes, I understand that he has to take the earthly atmosphere with him and it is said also that
فِیۡہَا تَمُوۡتُوۡنَ
As I understand that it is prophesied that nobody will die in this space, in this space beyond the earth.
Huzoor (rh): No, no. When you have already translated earth to be the earthly things, so earthly things means earthly atmosphere, earthly requirements. All that goes towards sustaining our lives so, feeha tamu’tuuna means when you die you will return to the earthly things again. You will be disintegrated and carbon will go to carbon and oxygen to oxygen and so on and so forth. So, from where you have sprung you will return to that substance, yet something of you would emerge. That something is the soul. That would be liberated from this material imprisonment. That is the meaning of this verse, Feeha tamu’tuuna is the return of the matter to the matter Wa min ha’tukhra’yoon refers to the liberation of soul from the matter.
