The point is that this was the point at issue, issue at point. The fact that previously before the creation of a being who had the option to believe or not to believe, to choose his path, whatever was created had no option before that and they kept on praising God day and night, they obeyed him immaculately and perfectly. So that was the state of affairs. But in such a state of affairs where there is no choice to go wrong and yet you are doing something out of compulsion, although there is a sort of beauty but no charm really.
Because if you have given a choice to perform a thing and then you perform a thing, that is something different from if you are not given a choice. So what is drudgery and what is service? Have you not observed a difference between the two? That if a people conquer another people and subjugate them to drudgery, to a sort of forced labour, does that have the same quality of excellence as a people going into for instance war and offering everything they have, not because of compulsion but because they want to serve the cause of the people. Is there no difference between the quality of the two? There is.
So previously it was a sort of drudgery, though not in exactly the same way, but as far as the compulsion went it was a sort of drudgery. They had no choice. The quality of their service to God could not be compared to the quality of service to God, our being, which was given option.
Option either to praise God or to turn against him. So that phenomena which you are referring to is just the beginning of this. That question, answer, that dialogue is the unfolding of this phenomena. So the choice had to be given, otherwise you will not be here, I will not be here.
