If the hymns carry a sense of idolatry or calling partners by Allah, by saying that, O son of, O Jesus, son of Lord, then it is prohibited. You must not say at any cost. If it is a hymn to God, any hymn is good. Allah is our love and if He is praised by, even by our enemies, we will be so happy and we can join with Him, in chorus with Him.
