Huzoor (rh): No, because it is understood that he never lived. The first breath after being given birth is the sign of life. So because we don’t see any sign of his coming to life at all, so it is understood that it is dead. That is again, it supports my thinking that according to Islam, the independent life is the more important thing. That child, had it been dead long before, could not have remained there for nine months to be delivered. It would have caused havoc with the whole system of the mother. So that shows that as far as Islam goes, Islam considers life truly that life which can lead an independent existence, not dependent upon the mother. Otherwise, janaza should have been said (offered) of that baby.
