Why are men and women not permitted to pray together in a mosque?

Huzoor (rh): Because when you’re together you think of each other and you have no time to think of God. So at least you should spare some moments alone to think entirely of God. So you have to be separated in worship. You worship God and not each other. Enough of your liking each other and devoting yourself to each other and to your pleasure of life. When you go to mosque you should devote yourself entirely to God. So that is why this helps us in breaking our ties with the worldly pleasures and entirely direct our attention to God.
