Questioner: What I would like to know is why do all four khalifas have to wear pakhlis?

Huzoor (rh): They don’t have to. In the morning walks I don’t wear a turban. When I go out for picnics, etc., I wear caps or don’t wear anything. So it’s not a must, but it has become a sort of custom. Because previous khalifas have been wearing turbans, it’s supposed to be a sign of respect and responsibility. So the others followed suit and so I am also following it. But it’s not a religious must. Okay?
