What is the meaning of the Arabic word qalb?

So the word Qalb is used in the language for indicating many various shades of meaning. And because it is an Arabic language, it is the Arabic language in which the Holy Qur’an has been revealed, so such issues should be settled with reference to the usage of the Arabs. When Arabs said heart, they did not mean an anatomical heart. They meant that heart which felt things.

So whatever the seat of feeling be, that is called heart by the Arabs. And because the Holy Qur’an is revealed in Arabic, so it should confirm to the Arabic usage. Why do you begin to conceive the Holy Qur’an as a book on anatomy? It is not a book on anatomy. It is a book written in Arabic, in Arabian Fusa. In Fasih of Belize, in the most excellent Arabic language. And you should always refer to the usage of Arabs for deciding such issues.
